Metcele Dragon Reference by Armaina

So some of you may remember my dragon Methalous http://armaina.artspots.com/image/16849/methalous-reference I've had him around for some time, as long as DJ and Dayma... though I actually never had any definitive concept for the Metcele dragon species, only some sort of general concept. Soo, I've finally gotten around to figuring it out and also deciding on exactly what their patterns would be. I'm pretty happy with this in general. So this is a little something I've had sitting around on my computer for some time now. It's not perfect but I knew I'd never be able to finish it if I spent more time on it. Still trying to get used to illustrator but I think I've been getting better, still need to learn those mesh gradiants but I'll get there.

Pixel Saiprym Set by Armaina

So this is the start of a project I am working on, something I've been wanting to do for a long time. Adoptions whee :D In any case, decided to use my saiprym as the first of the set. These are the 3 colors that Saiprym normally come in... personally I think the yellow/cream one is my favorite of the three. 4 Stages, hatchling, child, young adult, adult. I may do the Crested Saipryms next.. or the firebirds, not sure.

Lasarian DJ by Armaina

Because I love drawing DJ as other things, I decided to draw her as one of Lazeros's Lasarians. She supposed to be an elder, but honestly, I think her fur may not be long enough >_> Ahh well, it was still fun. Also her fins are practically non-existent just due to age and well the long fur pretty much covers what's left. Uh.. She's got some sticks in her hair.. but the bun in her hair.. I wasn't sure if Lasarians use 'accessories' or not, but what the heck! I thought it was cute. Decided to try out that paper-cutout style I've been seeing pop up here and there all over the place. I think it turned out rather well, kinda messed up on the tail though, but oh well. Drawn in oC 4.5+ Textures added in photoshop Lasarians are Lazeros's and all Texture from http://www.easyelements.com/paper-textures.html

Inked and colored a sketch I did based on a random Idea Code Zer0 and I had. Duke the farfetch'd decides he wants to purse his journalism dream and as he knows all Absol have a knack for finding disasters he decides to hijack the resident absol to go on an adventure and follow his dream.

Shera Reference by Armaina

So this was a reference I did for my boyfriend, Code Zer0, of his character Shera. For clarification she's an Albino Houndoom (white fur, red eyes ect, I hoped that would give it away haha) So no it's not my character, it's my boyfriend's character and I enjoy drawing his characters. Whee. Yeah all of the stats and information on the reference sheet are from him. Houndoom are pokémon, yo but the art is still mine :E (I feel my anatomy has been greatly improving)

This is actually a random set of pixels I offered over at the Dragon Cave, some are kind old. I think the Feather dragon will be used (purple and tan one) but no one liked the others. Ah well, I'll just keep the design for my orange guys as a design of a subspecies of Metcele dragon, it'll be awesome!

Luxio Commission Set by Armaina

So yeah I was kinda dormant for a while. Kinda been having wrist issues, but I started feeling well enough for a pixel art commissioned set! A commission for juumou. Rather pleased with the largest one, it has a nice matt shading to it. Also, gonna sorta open up for pixel commission again, though new pricing.. you'll see. Not for re-use or modification!

So FINALLY did a new reference for Truda. It's been too long since I re-did her's and it really did need it. I adore Truda, I'm kinda sad that I don't seem to get the chance to use her as much D: Anywho I will admit, this was a little rushed, I really got lazy on the feet.. heh.. and some of the anatomy is a little odd. But it's still way better than the previous ref. Sauristans are a species of mine yanno :D

So I was pretty late on my dragon_swap exchange on LJ... I got Ulario's dune dragons this round.. tried to go with more of a rust color.. cus that's cool. I like crested dragons.. a lot haha. I've been trying to do more backgrounds lately, even if they're minimalistic. Desert yey! Hey man check out that sun. NO LENSES FLARE hehe I dunno. talokun/dune dragons are Ulario's and all that

Sygan Rerference by Armaina

So Sygan has never had a reference so I decided to do one of him since I re-did Dayma's I mean, why not? hehe. I also made a few slight changes, related to the stripes. Originally he just had solid sripes down his back, but I decided to just do a little more to it. I also added stripes to the outsides to the wings, which he never had them there before. Personally, I like the updates, it works. There are a lot of specifics though that are related to the general Gemhorn ref, so I would take a look at that as well if you're curious

Dayma Reference by Armaina

Well I thought it was about time that I updated Dayma's ref from the previous one I had. Yes I used the same line work as the one for the general Gemhorn reference, though I re-did some of the lines a bit. There are a lot of specifics though that are related to the general Gemhorn ref, so I would take a look at that as well if you're curious

This is a new reference to replace the old one Aside from the back that I've really improved in my anatomy, I've also altered a few things about the Metcele dragon in general, such as the 'fin' at the base of the tail and tip of the tail. Build was changed a bit through, unlike DJ and my gemhorns, (who have a more mammal anatomy) gave them something looking more like a lizard kinda with a saurian flavor. He's one of my oldest characters, and one of the only that I've changed at all, he just... needed something, and I think it really worked. Metcele dragons are mine and all, I need to do a general ref for them.

Entry for my half in the February exchange. We were supposed to do couples pieces, and well my chosen didn't have anyone to paired up with, so she just requested to make one up haha. It took me a while to get ideas for the partner in the piece, so I decided to go with, I dunno, a water dragon of sorts. Since you liked jungle and water, tried to make it a jungle setting, though it was more difficult than I thought... the picture is actually larger than I could scan, rather large piece. I hope I got Endellion alright, the colors were kinda hard to emulate in colored pencil, especially the kind of electric blue. hope it's alright!
